Didn't like my new key.  Was going from corp to retail.

If your friend has a retail copy then yes you can use his disc.  But you may end up with activation issues.  

And on a machine with at least 500mhz speed and 256mb ram,  XP is a better choice than 98.  You machine is good specs, it will run nicely.

What would be the point?  Doesn't pro do everything that corp does?

Software / want to change xp corp to retail or oem

Was there ever an answer to this?

I basically did what everybody else did.  Used the corp version till I had the extra cash to get legal.  

So now I got a legal key off a new copy of XP pro sp2 that I bought at retail.  But I don't want to re-install just to get this new key loaded.  I tried magic jelly bean with no luck.

Any other ways out there?

P.S. I know I can get around all the updates by modding files.  But if I am gonna be legit I shouldn't need to get around them.
