FreeDOS has .isos you can download that install from CD nicely.
FreeDOSOtherwise I have to agree on the Ghost method.
A fun thing to do is to install DOS, WFW, and various utilities to an old, small drive and burn a \"hard disk emulation\" CD of that drive. Quite a few progs will still work, and if you like the slow method you can xcopy (or xxcopy) all or part of the setup to a hard disk.
DUX COMPUTER DIGEST4. Directly Copy All of the Directories and Files. In the old days of MS-DOS operating system, Windows 3.x, and Windows for Work Groups 3.x, one used the the DOS xcopy command and it worked quite well. The command is:
a:\> xcopy c:\*.* d:\*.* s/h/e/v
The flags copy subdirectories and their contents, hidden and system files, empty directories, and verifies the data. In this example, the command is issued from a boot floppy.
CDs have so much room including a .gho file (or many) is cool too.
DOS also runs well from a Compact Flash card (which are also Ghostable)if you want a quiet system.
