Hardware / lite-on dvd burner

i am having problems with my dvd burner. when i copy/backup a disk i try to play them and they do not work on either my pc or my stand alone dvd player this is a direct link to the dvd burner i have as i cant remember the specs off the top of my head http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...=55215&offset=0
i read on dvdr help something about firmware am i going to need to download this and if so any sources? any other help would be nice total newbie here please help
i have used a number of different programs to try and back up my dvd and they are dvd-xcopy platinum, dvd shrink, clone dvd and shrink dvd and with all as mentioned above the discs dont play back. i think i need some help lol! thanks in advance

i am look for a driver for a soundblaster soundcard the model number is sb0220. i have already been to the creative site and they expect me to pay for a driver which should have come with the soundcard! andy help would be great thanks in advance

Software / dvd burning and ripping

hi peeps! new to this forum! i am reasonably new to the dvd ripping and burning scene too lol!

can anyone help. anyone willing to give me some hints, tips, secrets?

1. on some dvds when ripping them it wont do it because of copyright anyway i can overcome this?

2.when i have the files ripped from the dvd what do i then do with them to burn them onto a dvd that can be played back on a standalone player?

3.any program/software reccomendations?

4.website recommendations?

5.tutorials?

6.when trying to do a straight copy it wont fit how do i overburn on a dvd-r?

7.if i was to download a movie from the net in the various formats that are available how do i then get them onto a dvd that will playback on a standalone player?

8.i am currently using nero6 ultra edition to burn. and dvd decrypter to rip. anything else i need.

thanks in advance i know that there is a lot i need to know but if you all help this post will be like the comprehensive guide to dvd ripping and burning on the net!!!!
