Tech Clinic / help me plz laptop wont start up

it is dell inspiron 1525


after Windows format i installed a windows 98 disc and it said this

setup did not find any hard disk drives installed on your computer

make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer and that any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. this may involve running a manufacture-supplied diagnostic or setup program.

setup cannot continue, to quit setup press f3

what shopuld i do now guys?

the laptop slipped of my knee last night and hit the floor but it wasnty a very big fall at all
well a min l8r computer froze and i turned it off to reboot
but now it just goes straight to this screen (windows failed to start because the system registry file is
missing or corrupt.)

File:/Windows/system32/config/system
Status:0xc00000e9

i done a diagnostic scan
and its says

error code 0146
msg: error code 2000-0146
msg: harddrive 1- self test log contains previous error(s)
the given error code and message can be used  by dell
technical support to help diagnose the problem
do you want to continue testing?

can some1 help me out plz as i really dont have the money to bring this to a computer
shop as im out of work at the minute and dont have the money

Tech Clinic / HELP ROUTER IS CUTTING DOWN MY SPEED

hello im useing a modded 20mb vm modem
and when its connected straight to pc  it does the 20mb
but when in use with a router it loses the speed and only does 3mb at most
can any1 help me out on this and let me know what i can do
to fix this

my router is
NETGEAR WGT624 V3 108MBPS
AND IM USEING WG111T USB 2.0 TO CONNECT AS I DONT HAVE WIFI

installed vista on it again but now his bluetooth wont work
ive downloaded the driver from dell but it dosent work can some1 help me out

i dont really like the xp i installed
and want to change it to a diffrent 1

i tried to install 1 of the win xp discs i got a lend of.
i put in microsoft windows 98 and after going through the install
it asked me for a product key and i dont know it and cant get a hold of my friend who i got it of to get it, so i tried adiffrent disc i got called black xp and tried to install that but it says there wasnt enough memory. so i tried the last disc i had its called tiny xp and it wont install.
the disc i tried to install called black xp keeps coming on instead.
then i get this message.

hi im trying to fix my friend computer
which was completley messed up.
i tried to put a new xp on to it
but it didnt work so it f**ked the computer up
so i used boot n nuke and wiped everything
and now i need a (win xp install cd) can
some1 tell me were i can get it plz

hi there.
im trying to fix my friends computer,
when i load it up it wont let me on to the netand when i try to get into anything in the start menu it
wont let me in and this comes up (windows cannot find rundll.exe. make sure you have typed the name correctly, and then try again, to serch for a file click the start button, and then click search)
and also this 1
(this application has failed to start msclib.dll was not found reinstalling the application may fix this problem)
he said he had a back door trojan horse
and when hes was trying to get rid of it
he deleted a file or something by the name rundll,exe.
any ideas plz guys
