Raven, how did you plan to install your windows? fully unattended or user control? To try to reedit the file winnt.sif in folder i386 or the folder where you put the win2000's boot disk (same folder as setupldr.bin)

If you have update sp4 to your original win2000 disk, it will produce a file named cdromsp4.tst in the disk root. if you lost it, it will come up to ask for the sp4 disk.

On the problem disk, I always get NTDETECT FAIL just after it says "Setup is deteminging your hardware congiuration"

maybe the file ntdetect.com in the i386 folder is missing or destroyed

I don't understand your problem very clearly. Maybe You can have a try to add or delete cdromsp4.tst in your disk's root menu.
