Hardware / SB Audigy & ProLogic Speakers
« on: March 25, 2004, 04:36:42 PM »
I have a Soundblaster Audigy card (can't remeber specific model).
I'm running the card with some older TEAC PowerMax1000 (I think) 5.1 Prologic speakers.
However, on some games (e.g. Max Payne 2 & HalfLife 1) the centre speaker seems to have virtually no volume despite hardware balancing, software balancing and fading.
I have the latest Audigy drivers but was wondering if the was an issue with older ProLogic 1 speaker systems using EAX effects etc.
Even with the EAX enhancments/filtering I still can' t hear anything.
An example of a centre speaker sound is firing a gun or listening to dialogue directly in front.
Anyone able to help. If it's the speaker system them I'll get new ones, but I don't want to fork out $400 for nothing.
Cheers
