Here things turned hard in 2000/2001 with a big devaluation, I never lost the job, but till 2004 the situation was tough (it still is).

Now there is a reborn of the Construction Contracts and I´m involved in three projects, two railroad underpassages and a bridge over a railroad too, so there is a lot of work to do...

I´ll make a jump on techchat at any moment and say hello to Dexter for me http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Hardware / MY HD RIP :(
« on: December 26, 2001, 06:15:56 PM »
Yup I thought it will never happen...yesterday at Win2K I tested the DirectX diag, becouse the games (microsoft combat flight smulator) didn\'t see the D3D, (Gf2mx400 21.81 drivers for Win2k/XP).
Well at the moment I was testing the D3D the system freezed at a white screen, so I did a hard reset, damn it never booted again.
Ok I saied is the dual booter I\'ll set in a moment, ha, no Fdisk, no Mbr no sys c: from the boot floppy(reported error reading the hd), so I tried a restore from Win2k Cd, nada, so I used the Western Digital Disk manager, and it told that the bios couldn\'t handle the HD and installed Ezbios go figure!, tried to reinstall Win and it said there weren\'t partitions or they were NT/HPFS, at that point I did a Low Level Format, and went to buy a new HD (with whom I\'m now), after six hours the LL end, but the results were the same.
I think the fault is becouse I had the bios in PNP OS YES, and MS advices not to do that, that \"hardware info may be written...\" or something like that.
Any idea how to recover the HD?????(Western Digital 30GB 5.400rpm)
Thanks guys

I don\'t like that web style, you get any time you open a folder with explorer, I just want to see the folders, and avoid all those transition effects, smooth edges, etc, etc. http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Yup guys ten days that I\'m using win2k, crashed the dual boot (win98/Win2k) twice the second day I installed it, but rebuilded in a snap, I\'m spending all my time with win2k, took off all the extra features so that it looks as much possible as the \"classic\" windows, didn\'t load games yet, just lurked in it and surfed and chatted, I\'m liking it more each moment I spend with it, thanks JT http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Hardware / I\'m on a Gig
« on: September 01, 2001, 08:03:33 PM »
Yeah I got a P3 Slot 1 1Gig 100MHZ and dropped on a Soyo 6vba+133 (didn\'t found a BX) with 384 Megs Ram running at 133 CAS 2 with a Pine Geforce2 MX400, hooked to the same cablemodem as the other comp.
Thanks to Intel an his fixed multiplier it runs at its default speed even if the mobo hasn\'t that multiplier in the bios.
Now I have to make the comps to see each other trough the hub to have everything finished and after that start thinking on the next jump ...
