I'm new, so if this is lacking some important information, please tell me to clarify.
My partner recently had issues with a virus on his PC -- the one where a blue screen comes up with the "Warning! Windows has detected spyware on your computer!" message. I fixed that by removing three particular files, and the computer is working now. However, one thing that remains is a white screen over the normal desktop.
The icons are visible, and there aren't issues using any of the programs, but it's really annoying. The screen is white, but changes to gray when you move the cursor around.
Left clicking on it, it's linked to a particular file: windows/web/desktop.html, but when I search for the file (it's hidden) and delete it, it comes back on reboot. (And it never actually ends up in the recycle bin when I delete it).
Any suggestions? Be kind with me: I don't know my way around PC's very well - I use a Mac - and I'm at the end of my knowledge, here.
Thanks,
Alyssa
