I had that happen to me with a game a few years ago. It ultimately ended up being a problem with my cd rom drivers, but sometimes its not easy to fix. Best solution is to go to a place like gamecopyworld and try to find a no cd crack. As much as it sucks to do that since you own the game, it might be easier than trying to fix it. Although a no cd crack might not exist yet. Look around a little.
