Tech Clinic / Homepage hijack
« on: May 12, 2005, 07:25:18 AM »
Hi everyone, sorry if I get things wrong this first time. My problem is that I  had a homepage hijack by derbiz.com and I think I removed it? using help from a thread called "those darn popups" and etremover. However at the moment I cannot access ad-aware updates and live updates from Symantec (Norton) antivirus also I downloaded Firefox to use as my browser instead of Microsoft, access to this is also denied. Am I doing something wrong or is this relalated to the hijack?
Another problem is Help and Support is not available, error message says a system service is not running.
Hopefully things are not as bad as they seem.
(I have tried to reload XP but the disk I have says the current version on the pc is newer than the cd version and won,t let me reinstal)
Help please http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />  Brian
