Idle Chat / Anyone Play team Sports
« on: July 14, 2010, 11:56:20 PM »

I was going to suggest finding a swim team. I also love swimming!!

If you have a community center with a pool near by (or a community pool), you should go there and ask them about swim teams, they would probably be able to help you. Also, you can find out a lot about teams from your school. If you have a guidance councler at school or even ask your teachers...

I'm not really a very sporty person, but my dad wants me to join a team sport. I like swimming a lot so does any one know something like swimming, or that includes it?

Put them onto cd.Transfer them to your desktop.Reboot your pc, as it begins booting tap the f 8 key.You will then see the advanced boot options screen, choose safe mode.
Now install MBAM. Then exit MBAM, then double clickon the update file.Updates will be installed, while still in safe mode run MBAM, and delete all threats.

Also you can try Avira rescue cd, a linux based program that is fully updated. It works on all windows platforms.
Download from clean pc,double click on file, you will be prompted to insert cd/dvd.Program is burnt to cd.Insert disc into infected machine, reboot.
This program works without booting windows.See link for simple instructions
I wish you the best of luck.

Frag Fest / Looking for Supreme Destiny hacks help !!
« on: July 02, 2010, 10:52:50 PM »
I'm not going to get into a destiny / free will argument, and for the sake of argument I'll just let it slide that destiny exists, which I'm not so sure it does.

Destiny doesn't mean that you can be as lazy as you want and whatever's coming to you will happen on its own. Look at it this way, if you're destined to achieve something, you're also destined to work hard for it. Sit back and don't struggle, and it's your destiny to be a bum. And no, I don't have any change for you.

Frag Fest / Free NX, Gift Cards, Amazon Free

Instead, we would try to come up with gifts for one another completely off the books, using "fake money" like rewards points, rebates, store credits, pocket change, PayPal balances and coupons. Or we could make gifts for one another, but with three little kids running around, neither one of us has much time to be crafty. I was about 97% successful in shopping for my husband with fake money. He was somewhat successful in shopping for me that way, and he's still working on it -- he bought himself an extension by transferring some money from our savings account to his PayPal account, and is hoping to pay it back if and when some of his items listed on Ebay sell.

Software / Disk Defragmenter & Disk Cleanup ( Windows XP )?
« on: June 30, 2010, 06:08:56 AM »

Both these programs take quite a while to run, and this can be very boring and time-consuming. I was wondering if it was possible to run these two programs at the same time, or would they clash?

I got a virus that corrupted my Windows system files (Vista). I decided not to format the drive, since the virus was deleted. I inserted the CD and installed Windows.
Everything would be good, but all my programs, pictures, music are now in a folder named "Windows.old". My current system is blank.
My question is this: Can I copy my user table, my program files, etc. to replace those blank onces I have? Or is it necessary to install EVERYTHING again from the CDs?

Start from basic's. Just have the basic on motherboard, example, one hard drive, one cdrom, one stick ram. Then try the boot up.It's mainly a driver error, or faulty hardware that causes this.

Software / Why back up server keeps disconnecting?
« on: June 29, 2010, 12:21:00 AM »
I have built a back up server using Windows home server and it worked ok.
no I have moved it to an office where there are florescent lights and and I do not know what else
The server is connected to a wireless router using the ports on the back of the wireless router (linksys)
when I first set it up it was connected and fine
but then it disconnects And after I have restarted it it reconnected and then it loses connection again to the workstations
I am thinking may be it is WIRELESS router I am using or is it the florescent light

Overclocking / Overclocking multicore processors
« on: June 23, 2010, 04:16:39 AM »
Overclocking the multicore processors is the process of running a computer component at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer, usually practiced by enthusiasts seeking an increase in the performance of their computers.
Overclocked may refer to: *The past participle of the verb to overclock. *OverClocked ReMix, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and paying tribute to video game music. *, collection of short stories by Cory Doctorow. *, a video game.
overclocker - A person who overclocks a computer.
overclock - To run a processor (CPU), or any electronic logic device, at a speed higher than is recommended by the manufacturer.
This is the term for running a CPU, video card, or other component faster than its rated speed. See my Advanced Topics for more information on this.

Software / Can Windows 7 support all video device drivers
« on: June 16, 2010, 05:47:16 AM »
If you upgrade to 64-Bit OS in WINDOWS 7 or WINDOWS VISTA, then one ESSENTIAL DRIVER you will likely miss is your Wi-Fi card...and then will have to shop for new 64Bit WiFi device bec Linksys, Belkin, NetGear all do not offer 64 bit WiFi drivers on their websites rather they want you to buy a new one.

I know we have superfast Dell Studio XPS 435 Mini-Tower with Intel Pentium Core i7-920 CPU and 6GB DDR3 memory upgradeable to whopping 12GB that came installed with 64Bit VISTA OS. Recently we had problem with internet connections and only WiFi was working on 3 Dell Notebook PCs (Latitude D800, Latitude D 620 and Inspiron E1505) so we can backup WiFi devices when we vacation and I decided to hookup & install Linksys WUSB300N USB adapter to Dell Studio XPS 435MT desktop and found out it would not work or install the painful way...so my research resulted in buying Linksys WUSB600N dual band WiFi USB adapter that does have 64-Bit drivers and it works on both 32-Bit and 64-Bit OS,

To my eyes and needs, Windows 7 is just a fix to Windows VISTA and the door to 64Bit OS bec if you didn't know your Dell D510 motherboard and 32 Bit Windows XP cannot support more than 3.5GB memory.

Overclocking / I'm a noob...teach me how to overclock?
« on: May 19, 2010, 02:11:53 AM »
All voltages i gave you are the stock voltages, and they will appear as AUTO until you change them (doh! ).
I would leave PLL and FSB termination voltages at stock voltages (enforcing manually the values), and if the system is unstable/crashes, increase the NB and or CPU vCore by a couple of notches.
I honestly doubt you will need more than a 5% increase to get to 3.6 GHz. As a matter of fact if you are lucky you might be able to undervolt your CPU while it is overclocked. But let's leave that for after you have tested at stock.

Overclocking / Overclocking multicore processors
« on: May 05, 2010, 11:16:48 PM »
I really want to see people overclock the FSB of the Pentium D. I was talking to my friend about HT about a year or two ago when the 2.4C was an extremely popular and he was proud of his fathers Shuttle SFF. He was saying that the reason why HT decreases performance while video editing is because there is so much data being sent through the front side bus that HT will actually bottleneck that. So, based on that, I would like to see people overclock the front side bus of the Pentium D really high. In theory, performance would increase tremendously because right now, it looks lie the FSB is being shared by two cores. So in theory, each core can get say 3.2 GB/sec which is that of the original Pentium 4. When they increased the FSB, performance dramatically increased. This just shows that with multi cores, the world needs faster FSBs and faster ram and integrated memory controller. If Intel had used the integrated memory controller, its DDR2 performance should be a bit better. They would also be able to give each core more bandwith and you would most likely see much greater performance.
