edit: I read every post in your link and none of it is remotley usefull and that guy never got to erace the file ether
this is how the file was created witch is easaly recreatable in the latest verson of windows xp and probubley all old versons also
useing internet explorer I download a file that was missing an extensiom but still had the . as an exsample "errorfile." with windows xp it you do this it will make 2 files on your desktop both named the same thing one of them will be invisable the invisable one is the screwed up file
if you are runing windows xp and would like one of thses screwed up files on your desktop click save as on anything hit "all files" as how to save it and erace the last three letters and leave the period and this will happen the file will be of course 0 bytes
you cant save over it or rename it
one thing I did was create a file named the same thing new file will save without the . then erace the . in the error file then when you rename ether of them both will be changed you can delete one of them then undo delete then there will onley be one file witch you can erace but as soon as you reset your computer it will come back
I also tryed a few differint veriations of how to erace stuff useing the RD command but says file dose not exsist
that is all the information about it that could possibley be usefull I want it gone so bad
