Frag Fest / Kids tv trivia quiz - Cows making the least amount of noise?
« on: August 27, 2010, 01:51:38 AM »
I'm trying to finish a kids tv quiz (no prize I'm afraid) but I'm really stuck on a couple. Any suggestions to 1) A place in Wales where Mr Blair is replaced by a prince 2) Cows making the least amount of noise 3) Sounds like you're looking through an innovations cataloge and 4) Rod Hull's mate's planet. These are all kids tv shows past and present. Any ideas.

Frag Fest / Free Games & More!
« on: August 25, 2010, 02:07:29 AM »
Perfect World International is pretty similar to WoW as far as graphics are concerned. Shaiya from Aeria Games is also similar, but with simpler controls. 12 Sky 2 is a PvP type game with PvE thrown in for leveling.

For a more creepy feel there is Requiem: Bloodymare.

My favorite free MMORPG has to be Dream of Mirror Online. It does have anime style graphics with a more light-hearted feel to the stories, but the job customization options are amazing. Almost any job from mercenary to doctor can be soloed thanks to the ability to sub job skills on to other jobs and use other armors as well.

Wich free MMORPG is the best, and has the best graphics:)? .. I tried Moons2, but I think there might be something better out there, with better graphics, and more Wow-like gameplay;) ..

News / Asustek: Two-thirds of Eee PCs will have Windows XP
« on: August 22, 2010, 12:42:00 AM »
The programme that comes as standard with Windows XP, my friend, is called Paint. This is a very basic photo editing programme. You'd be much better off downloading Picasa. This is a FREE programme from Google, and is well worth the effort of downloading and installing.

If you're looking for something a bit more 'heavyweight', click on my avatar/photograph and send me an email. I have a list of several FREE programmes that you might like to try.

I also do an internal backup this morning, and backup my E: drive (3GB) to my D:drive (still have 5GB free space) for only 4 mins. But back up my E: drive to this Maxtor external drive takes 45 mins. It is 10 times longer. My internal backup speed seems fine.

I also did a test to copy a 120 MB file from C: drive to =>
 1. D: drive, takes 8 sec.
 2. external flash drive (with 1GB space), takes 55 sec.
 3. external crappy drive (can store 160GB, this one has slow speed download problem with my previous image backup), takes 2min+40 sec.

Hardware / Need a change of processor
« on: July 19, 2010, 06:27:56 AM »
Yes you could but its not really worth it as to do so you must buy a new mother board and new ram chips often and it would end up just costing more than an i5 I mean my mum has one and its more worth getting a quad core more affordable and there is not much out there that would actually require an i5's sort of power (yet) but if you can find one affordable by all means go for it but changing processor is like changing the car engine it would have to be a Pretty damn good car to make it worth it.
I Hope this has been useful to you im not in IT but im pretty sure that is correct.

Software / Can a modem slow the internet down?
« on: July 19, 2010, 06:26:44 AM »

My internet has been slow. I just reinstalled windows thinking that would fix it for sure, but it didnt. Its not an old computer, it was plenty fast a month ago. I did recently get a used dsl modem that is older than what I had, could that be it? This is on my desktop and the modem is right next to it.
