Tech Clinic / Internet connection

I'm having trouble with the internet. I recently installed a wifi card and used it to connect to my local wireless network. It connects perfectly but for some reason internet explorer and everything else sees me as off-line. Need help. Please let me know if someone ran into this problem before and knows how to solve it. Thanks.
