« on: July 20, 2009, 08:45:24 AM »
Hey guys!
I found new program, it's called Backup and Recovery.
It is designed to provide centralized management of all workstation and server backup and disaster recovery activities in Windows and Linux environments.
Let's discuss its pros and cons here and share our backup experience.

Press the button "Do a system scan and save a logfile", after that you will see a list of items with chechkboxes and a log opened in you default editor (e.g. notepad). Further you have to get known, which items are "bad" (spyware, adware, worms or viruses). For example, you can place your log at this forum and ask people to analize it. After that check the processes that you want to get rid of and press the button "Fix checked". Thats it!

What do you mean "partially hidden"? You sure can hide it, but the option "Do not show hidden files and folders" must be enabled. You also can try to delete it doing the following:

1. Try to close all the programs that may be using it (reboot your PC and don't start any programs. Go directly to the file and delete it. Kill all non-system processes).

2. Check youк HDD for errors (chkdsk /f).

3. Also check you system for viruses and spyware.

4. Get a copy of MoveOnBoot. It's free and this simple tool allows you to Move, Copy or Delete files before Windows can lock or alter the files.

You should perform a repair installation of Windows:

Set you PC to boot from cd first in the BIOS.
Place the xp cd in cdrom and reboot.
Boot from the XP CD and choose install.
Ignore the first repair option and continue with install.
When windows finds the previous installation and offers to repair
then do the repair.
If you have xp sp2 installed it needs to be incorporated into your xp disk or it will not offer the repair option only the clean install.

You could also try to find a solution here.

You should obtain the latest Windows XP service pack. As for spyware, try to perform a check-up with this free online spyware checker.

It seems to be Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smitfraud.c. If you boot into Safe Mode, can you do CTRL+ALT+DEL and then in Task Manager, File (Run) > Explorer? If you can, than scan your system with some antivirus (Dr. Web, Kaspersky or this free one - http://www.free-spyware.co.uk/30166.html)

You'd better check your system with some good antispyware.

Adaware and Spybot don't detect all spyware. Try this spyware remover. It also involves a very effective pop-up blocker.
