For those of you with XP sp1 that can only boot in safemode. I know for a fact that you can install sp2 but whether or not it will reset activation back to 30 days I'm not sure because the one time I had to install it in safe mode it was on a machine that was already activated. I know this information will be useless for some but for those of you that have just installed XP Home Edition servicepack1 and can not find your Product Key go to microsoft.com and find sp2. The last time I checked microsoft would mail it to you at no cost. It said 2-4 weeks shipping but I got mine in two days. You can install it at any time and it will reset the activation back to 30 days. The best thing to do is wait till the last day and then install it. It does not solve the problem of activation but it will buy you some more time. I have no idea if it works on any other version of XP sp1 but I don't see why not.
