Dell Win2K problem...
« on: January 22, 2004, 10:17:05 PM »
Hey, all. Here's my problem:
I bought a used Dell Optiplex system for a great price, only it's - well, a dumb terminal. The case is so compact and designed in such a way that there's no provision for a floppy or CD-ROM. If I want to use my Windows NT and *do* anything with it (like install stuff), I'll have to transfer the HDD into another PC. Prob. is, when I went to do so, I got the "DOS" progress bar, then the Win2k splash screen with progress bar, and then...a BSOD.

The BSOD tells me something about "inaccessible system disk". The HDD worked fine in its original case. The system resore disk sez it can only be used on a Dell system (which my other PCs are not), so I assume that the HDD is whining becuz it finds itself hosted by a non-Dell system. If this is so, do you know of any way I can disable this situation on the HDD so I can use the HDD & Win2K on a more..."friendly" system?...
Any help greatly appreciated. Thx
