I have trouble installing XP
« on: August 16, 2004, 12:11:46 PM »
A friend of mine sent me here. Anyways here is my problem. I just had a computer built. I went through the first install process of XP with no problems. Then the computer had to reboot to complete the first part. Now when it boots back up it says that " The file `asms` on Windows xp home edition sevice pack 1 cd is needed." It says type the path where the file is located, and then click OK. Then in the copy files from box it says, "GLOBALROOT\DEVICE\CDROMO\1386." So I tab over to where the ring is around OK and hit enter, and nothing happens. I don't have a mouse pointer either. Any ideas about what is wrong?

When installing XP Home you want to check search for updates from microsoft on the proper window maybe that will help.
