xp pro sp1 ICS trouble
« on: September 11, 2004, 11:48:37 AM »
hey all
i have never seen this problem before and then for some reason one day i could not access my other pc that was on my home network to view some files OR share the internet connection to it or my other pc.
when i look the local area connection properties ICS is turned off, so i tick it and click ok but then i get this message:

"Network Address Translation (NAT) is currently installed as a routing protocol, and must be removed before enabling Internet Connection Sharing and/or Internet Connection Firewall.  To remove Network Address Translation, open the Routing and Remote Access Manager snapin and expand the router's entry in the pane. Delete the Network Address Translation routing protocol from the list of IP routing protocols."

I have not enabled NAT at all and all it was was one day i just turned on the pc's and could not connect to any of my computers.
I also do NOT have a router, i have a Netgear  EN104TP 4 port HUB.

I have gone through the Microsoft built in help and support and found:  Netsh commands for Routing but these wouldnt even work! cmd would say something like 'delete' cannot be used or something :S

can somebody please help me as i really need to get this network back up and running! and if there is any solutions.

Thanks very much
