PC Mods and you hacked computer
« on: August 20, 2003, 09:54:29 AM »
What kind of mods have you done to your lame computer? Here is one of the systems that I have built, cut holes, added fans, neaon and painted. This was was one was in MaximumPC for being one of the top 12 mod jobs of the year. Here is some info about it with a link to the picture (check out the radio and paint job  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> )

Sure, it's got a big-ass window and a black light for the interior, but what makes this rig really special is it's wild paint job. The exterior boasts 3 layers of blank paint applied with an air-brush gun, as well as alien graphics also applied with an air-brush gun. Once all this paint hardened, I applied 3 coats of auto clear coat, followed by a coat of rubbing compund and a coat of turtle wax. But here's the kicker... Everything inside of the case is painted with black-light reactive paint. If you look at the motherboard, you'll see that every chip and tracer line is painted a different color. I added stars and other space theme symbols to capture the "look"... This case would make even Alienware envious!

THAT COMP IS COOL!

What kind of computer is (or was) that?

What OS is on it?

what are those drives in there?

how much ram/harddrive memory do you have?  how many harddrives? (i would like two drives instead of one with the same space on a computer if i had a desktop one, i dont know why...)

what you said about alienware being jelous is probably true; maybe you can sell them designs http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> .

It was built by scratch by myself so it was never a name brand. I had Windows 98SE, XP Pro, 2000 Pro and Redhat all installed for an OS. It had 5 drive bays, #1- CD-Rom, #2- DVD-R, #3- car radio with EQ, #4- speen knob controls for the fog machine (inside), fans and neon lights, #5- LCD Temp readers for CPU and other stuff. I was a Intel 800MHz over clocked to over 1GHz and it was water cooled. The case was white before I started and it didn't have any holes or windows in it.
