Hi Mike

Let's try some cleanup

Set Windows to Show Hidden Files and Folders

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE

Open Hijackthis>>>Config>>Misc Tools>>Open Process Manager
Kill these processes if still running
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\yiuiyx.exe

Access your Add/Remove Programs via Control Panel and Remove if found
Viewpoint Manager

Find and delete these files or folders
C:\WINDOWS\System32\yiuiyx.exe <--this file
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint <--this folder

Do another Scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries
and then FIX CHECKED when ALL other windows are closed

O2 - BHO: LocalNRDObj Class - {00320615-B6C2-40A6-8F99-F1C52D674FAD} - C:\WINDOWS\localNRD.dll
O2 - BHO: ADP UrlCatcher Class - {F4E04583-354E-4076-BE7D-ED6A80FD66DA} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\msbe.dll

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [kuizbnggfulbz] C:\WINDOWS\System32\yiuiyx.exe

O16 - DPF: {15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://public.windupdates.com/get_file.php...1613117fb4ea0f9

RESTART back in Normal mode

You should install this startup utility I have on my XP machine
Starter 5.6.1.38
It's a small download, after installation, I would suggest that you use it to control these Startup entries, they are not needed on startup, this will help free up resources

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\Updreg.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BJCFD] C:\Program Files\BroadJump\Client Foundation\CFD.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE

RESTART your computer again
I'm curious about the entries that look like this
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Counter Strike] hl.exe
I realize you have Steam installed, but I haven't seen those entries on any other logs
May be legit, or not...
Let's see what your log looks like later
Post back with a Fresh log when you have done the above

Good news the winsync.exe virus is no longer there.  Still would like to clean up my machine if there is anything else in that log to fix.   The ASquared malware clean up program is a good download.

Yup, I've got Asquared downloaded too, what I see though
Are the startup entries still in your log.
Why don't you try Starter to disable those startups I suggested, you can reenable them if you need to with STARTER 5.6.1.38

You can have Hijackthis fix this entry
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file)

Your version of Ad-Aware is out of date, uninstall via Add/Remove Programs
The latest free version is Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05
Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware
After installation-CHECK FOR UPDATES
Do a Full system scan----Remove All Critical objects
RESTART your computer to finish the cleaning process

Download and Install Spybot S&D 1.3
After installation--SEARCH FOR UPDATES
Check for Problems---FIX everything in RED
RESTART again

You should install these 2 apps., they add extra security while
silently protecting you, without running in the background

SpywareBlaster by JavaCool---will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies
Install---Check for Updates---Enable all protection
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

IE-Spyad---IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
Here is a tutorial and download link
TUTORIAL==Link to Tutorial
Download link==Download link
Scroll down and click on IE-SPYAD.EXE Free!

Can you do one more thing, with Windows set to show hidden files and folders
Do a Search, ensure under the Advanced options that search hidden files and folders is checked
Do a search for  hl.exe
Right click on any you find, left click properties, version, what info can you find about them, are the dates created about the same to you updated Counterstrike?

Here's some info on this entry
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?fil...XE&count=&type=

P.S your entry is not a Virus
I would use Starter and disable it, I like my machine running lean and mean  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

Glad you installed the other programs, SpywareBlaster and IE-Spyad will help to prevent spyware from being installed
Spybot won't update as much as Ad-Aware, but it's a very good program to have around
You might want to utilize the Immunize feature
Simply Open Spybot>>>Immunize>>>OK>>>Click on Immunize at the top
This will also add some protection

Curious if you need hl.exe on startup or if you can add a shortcut Icon to your desktop to run it when you want to run Halflife?

If everything is running better you may want to Clear out your Restore Points and start with a Fresh Restore Point
Simply Disable System Restore--Restart----Enable System Restore
