Netgear RP614 & Mail
« on: May 18, 2004, 06:56:14 AM »
I have installed Netgear RP614 and since then my connections to any SMTP server are blocked. 2 PC's (Win XP, Win 2000) try to sned mail to 2 different mail servers, the effect is the same ("relaying denied" comes back from the server). I tried port forwarding which is not the solution. Who can help? Thanks, Jean http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

I am having the same problem.  I took the router out of the loop and I was able to access Email Removed and such just fine.  I tried resetting both.....I setup DMZ......I tried port forwarding.....

Nothing.

Please help

What say the support from Netgear? I have a wgt624 and it looks like all products from Netgear fail in this point. Mail notifikation doesn't work!!!

I am having same problem with XP Home Edition.  I can get to Email Removed with my Me system.  Netgear seems to not be interested in solving this problem.

I had this problem, even after I loaded the most recent firmware. I rang tech support and they fixed it by telling me I had to reset the router (not just pull the power cord) You can reset via the supplied setup software, or by pushing a pin into the tiny hole on the back of the rp614. The problem was a flaw in the early firmware I think, and relates to how the the firmware behaves with secure sites.
