Thank you so much for all your help. Once we finish with the clean up I have a few questions about other minor problems I have. Thanks!!

Jeff it's been awhile so I need to get updated on a few things
I see you got some Windows Updates, good move

Download and save to desktop
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
This is a tool to help restore your Winsock settings if they are hijacked
Open LSP FIX and let me know what you see in the KEEP side and the REMOVE side

Next Access your Add/Remove Programs and Remove
NCase or 180 solutions  if it's there

I think I asked you about that before, did you find the NCase folder or 180 solutions

Restart your computer afterwards

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Narrator] C:\WINDOWS\System32\wcrkaw.exe

O4 - Global Startup: hitngh.exe

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
YES and exit Hijackthis

RESTART your computer again
Post back a fresh hijackthis afterwards
Don't take so long too post back, I forgot where we were in your log  http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />

I probably won't see your response until tomorrow, New years eve frolics are calling

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

Follow the instructions posted http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.php/topic/22942-please-read-how-to-post-logs-from-frst/\'>Click Here

Hey. Hope you had a good New Years. For LSPFIX I have:

Keep:
nwprovau.dll
mswsock.dll
winrnr.dll
rsvpsp.dll

and Remove has nothing under it. I'm hoping that's a good thing. As for NCase and 180 Solutions I used to have them but currently they are not under Add/Remove Documents. Current Hijack is as follows:

OK, One more time
Make sure that this file doesn't exist
C:\WINDOWS\System32\wcrkaw.exe <--file
If it does use killbox to rid you of it
Also look for these ones and get rid of them if they exist
They should all be in your C:\WINDOWS\System32 folder

---------------------------------------------------

Everything is running pretty well with a few exceptions.

1. On my desktop there is an icon labeled "AOL" which failed to delete when I uninstalled Email Removed I have tried deleting this file when I hit the delete key, literally nothing happens (i.e. no error message, no deletion, etc.). When I right click the file I am given only four choices: Open, Browse with Paint Shop Pro 7, Explore, and Create Shortcut. I have attempted using both a command prompt and killbot, however neither works (which I am assuming is due to the fact that the file has no extention.) Another thing I have noticed is that when I open "My Computer" it is listed under "Other" after all the drives and such. When I mouse over it it says "AOL - System Folder". From looking around at other posts I have a feeling the fix here lies in the registry, but I really have no clue. Any ideas?

2. I am still unable to delete that folder "C:\Documents and Settings\Jeff" which currently contains nothing in it. When attempting to delete it I receive the message "Cannot Remove: Access denied. Please make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use." though, I am unsure how this is possible since the folder contains nothing. I have also tried using Killbot and it in unable to delete the folder. Suggestions?

3. There are some files I would like to remove from the Startup and these files are not listed in the Startup folder (I am pretty sure, I have looked but I'm not quite sure if I'm looking in the right spot). How would I go about this, due to the fact that you suggested not using msconfig for such tasks because it disguises malicious files.

That's basically it. Everything else seems to be running smooth as ever. If I we are unable to fix those problems listed above is it inconsequential due to the fact that these files are useless. They are just basically annoying http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />.  Thanks for all your help!

Sorry Jeff, been busy, I'll look into your other problems shortly

For now
Can you open Killbox
Choose "Standard File Kill" if not already selected.
Paste this file into the top "Full Path of File to Delete" box.

C:\RECYCLER\desktop.ini

Click the "Delete File" button which looks like a stop sign.
Click "Yes" at the Confirm Delete prompt.
It should give you a successful "File was deleted" prompt

Restart your computer and let me know if your recycle bin is working

Hi again, well I have time can you check out what I recommended another user try for controlling startup entries
It's the reply which mentions CodeStuff's Starter

You may also want to run a Registry cleaner through your machine
Here's a link to a free one
Regseeker 1.35

When running it just simply click on the Clean the Registry>>OK
When it's done scanning
Select all and then right click and delete
Ensure that the backup before deletion is checked in the bottom left beforehand
Let me know how you make out
