my windows 98 had crashed
« on: February 04, 2005, 06:21:35 PM »
HI all
few monthes ago Ive erased eccidently some OS-files from my win-98
then in an attempt to repair it I tried to reinstall win 98 disc(which I have) but it seems Ive managed to ruin my OS-files even more.
now my intention is not to lose my own -files in my HD

my q's are these:

1: I have a compaq restore CD and windows98 cd .can I reinstall my 98-OS but keeping the files that still exist on my harddisk

2: I've heard that I have another choice to save my files and its to copy my win-98 HD to my new computer i'm using now (win-xp-pentium4)
using a removal of my old hD from old comp and reinstall it as a slave HD in my new computer

what do you recommend?
thanks
