HijackThis Log.
« on: February 19, 2005, 11:56:24 PM »
This is my HijackTHis log, my internet keeps shorting out after being online for 20 minutes, and spybot keeps finding and "fixing" some Haxdoor, klogini.dll file and some DOS Exploit stuff in the registry.  Maybe someone could show me a door or two to success and peace of mind.

I've uploaded a file at the bottom of this reply box
Save LMfix.zip to your desktop and UNZIP the contents to desktop

Download the Pocket Killbox
UNZIP it to a folder of your choice

Download and save to your C: drive HSFIX.zip
Unzip the contents of HSFix.zip and an HSFix directory will be created
We'll need this later

Next:
Download and Install this small program
to help clean your temp folders,cookies,prefetch folder, etc...
Windows Cleanup
Install for now but Don't run a scan yet

Print this out or save to a Notepad file on your Desktop
Close down all Windows Including this one, know how to start into safe mode, I'll need you to do this shortly, I've supplied a link below if your unsure
Don't restart into safe mode until prompted>>, if using the Msconfig method>>set to Safe Boot but don't allow to reboot yet

Set Windows To Show Hidden Files and Folders
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc tools>>Open Process Manager
Kill these processes if you can and if found
C:\WINDOWS\LMU.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\systime.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ntddetect.exe
C:\WINDOWS\msmsgrxp.exe
C:\windows\system32\plhkit.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\j?vaw.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\systime.exe

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

First of all, I appreciate you for all your help.  Here's my HijackThis lg file and the HsLog.txt log.  One other thing though, is that I unistalled Zone alarm with much concern over the vsmon.exe program, problem is is that it still shows up on my HijackThis log, and each time I go to delete them both they pop right back up on another scan, soo... I don't know. Here you go:

Now that we have you clean
You should disable system restore---restart your computer--enable system restore
This will clear all your restore points and ensure you don't restore any nasties
Once reenabled it will create a fresh restore point
How to Disable and Re-enable System Restore feature

Once back in Windows and System Restore is reenabled

You should set up protection against future attacks

SpywareBlaster by JavaCool---will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies
Install---Check for Updates---Enable all protection
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

IE-Spyad---IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
Here is a tutorial and download link
TUTORIAL==Link to Tutorial
Download link

Regular IE-Spyad for the individual user or IE-Spyad 2 for global protection(All users) on your computer
You only need one or the other

With both, Check for updates every couple of weeks
Keep the link to IE-Spyad bookmarked so you can check for updates
SpywareBlaster, after every update just simply enable all protection

Now that you have flushed out system restore
and reenabled it
It doesn't appear that Zone Alarm got uninstalled properly
You may want to try this link and follow the instructions
Install and uninstall would be the best procedure if possible

Well, everything worked, and instead of unistalling zone alarm after installing it, I jsut kept it on, and nothing seems to be screwing me, yet.  Thanks again for all your help, i really learned a lot.
