Opening up PC business soon
« on: July 09, 2003, 02:16:32 PM »
Well, I'm going to be opening up my own PC shop pretty soon, hopefully within a month (but probably a little longer).  Once we get the pool finished and get the dirt hauled off that we don't need (big pile of dirt in front yard from digging out for the pool), we'll start building the office.  Also need to redo the linuxrigs site, it's awfully hard updating it as it is.

It's official, we're getting our own shop.  Actually we bought the house next to us.  I want to knock out one of the walls to give more space, but I have to take into consideration the future usability of the house as a, well, a house.  Our current house would actually be more suited for a shop, but it'd be so much work to move, and it's a newer house, and we just got our pool up...hell no I'm not moving that pool!  LOL.

So now I'm ordering some supplies like a neon open sign, some fake security cameras (I can get 48 for $220, anyone need a fake camera?), etc.

Signed some of the paperwork today.  Been working on the new place for almost a week.  It's in pretty bad shape.  Was left closed-up for the whole summer, with no air circulating or anything.  Hardwood floor was buckling bad, mold everywhere (especially the fridge, bathroom, and cabinets), etc.  Lot of bathroom cleaner (the bubble stuff, works great), bleach solution, and elbow grease later, it's starting to take shape.  Put an a/c unit in to help take all the moisture out of the air, and the floor's almost back to normal now.

Not too much traffic, hell I don't even have a sign yet.

Been pretty busy though, started doing ebay.  It's nice having a separate place to get everything together, tested, and packed up.
