Win 2k Dial up Password not saving ?

Using win 2k on a dual platform.
I have a modem installed.
Ive set up the Dial up Networking settings and can connect to the internet no problem?
The problem is as soon as I tick Save password then a row of x10 * come in place of my x5 * password ?
To connect i have to unselect \"Save Password\" and type in my password for DUN?
Ive setup the account 3 times and with the same result ?
Ive changed the pasword through properties and not only from the DUN connection screen ?
It does not connect if i do leave the extra long password inplace ?

The extra *s are a security feature of win2k.
It will work just fine without retyping your pass.
