RP614 connection trouble
« on: April 21, 2005, 05:43:41 AM »
I'm having trouble connecting to my RP614 router with my PC.

I have a Laptio (WinXP) and a PC(Win2k), connected through a RP614 router to my Siemens Expresslink DSL modem.

There's no problems with the laptop, but when I connect the PC, an icon appears in the systray saying "A networkcable is not connected". The light on the networkcard, at the back of the computer, also stays off.

I've tried all the different ports in the router - no change.
I've tried switching the cables around - no change.

The laptop works fine, no matter what cable or port I use, while the PC doesn't recognice a cable, no matter what I do.

This would naturally suggest there's a problem with the PC's networkcard or something like that. However, when I connect the PC directly into the Siemens Expresslink DSL modem, it can connect to the internet just fine??
That should mean the PC works fine aswell, right?

Both computers are set to optain an IP automatic.

I'm completely baffled by this, as all parts seems to work fine individually.

Anyone else experiences something like that?
