Sorry for the delay, yup a few problems on this computer

Access your Add/Remove programs and remove if found
RVP
Golden Palace Casino PT

Restart the computer if found and removed

We need some tools to help get you clean

==Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05
Ensure you have this version or the paid version
Open Ad-Aware, ensure to click the  check for updates now link and Connect to download the latest updates
When installing it may update, allow it but also check to see if it is up to date
Don't run a scan yet, we'll do this later

==Download and Install this small program
to help clean your temp folders,cookies, etc...
Windows Cleanup
Give the link time to load or try it twice, it may be busy
Install for now, don't run a scan yet

====Download and then Install
Ewido Trojan Scanner

When installing, under "Additional Options" Uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We'll fix that later
From the main ewido screen, click on Update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
Close out Ewido

Please Print this out or save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop
Also, know how to start into safe mode in advance, if unsure, look at the link I supplied ahead of time

Set Windows To Show Hidden Files and Folders
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, after the single post beep, or use the link
I supplied for a more detailed explanation

Using Windows Explore>Find and delete these files or folders if found
C:\WINDOWS\System32\version.exe <-file, don't delete version.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\es.exe <-file, don't remove es.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll <-file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ffhfxyb.exe <-file
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Java\bptre.exe <-file
C:\WINDOWS\Web\comimg.exe <-file
C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\dvdpc.exe <-file

C:\Program Files\Bpt <-folder
C:\Program Files\bpc_search <-folder

==Open Windows CleanUp!>>START>>programs>>Cleanup!
Click on the CleanUp button, let it finish scanning for files, when it's done
Decline to Log off

Instead
Open Ad-Aware
Perform a Full system scan
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button

RESTART your computer to finish the cleaning process
Please Restart back to Safe mode

In safe mode
==Open Ewido trojan scanner
Click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take a while, so give it time to run
If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file.
Save the report

Restart back to Normal mode
Rescan with hijackthis and post a fresh log
Also post the report from Ewidos

Hi Jessica, do what you can from my post and then post a fresh hijackthis log
We'll go from there

I hope your not talking about getting Windows Service Pack 2 installed on your computer yet
Although it won't always go bad, until we have your computer free of viruses and spyware
It's not wise to install SP2
But after we have you clean I definitley recommend updating

If your going to manually update Ad-Aware, you may also want to download the  Latest definition file from this link
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/
Click on the Download link on the left to bring you to the appropriate page
Unzip it to C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal folder

Ok http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> Where to begin...

I still couldn't open the Windows Cleanup link, so I did the rest of it and had to skip that step when I got to it.

I was talking about SP2 :? and it had already finished installing by the time I got your message, so I'm sorry, I hope that doesn't interfere with anything that was done.

I didn't find any of the files that you had said to delete, however I did find both folders and deleted them.

Thank you SO much for all of your help this far.  I hope that he can use this computer again, at least conveniently http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />  If you see any programs or what not that don't need to be run at startup feel free to lemme know and I'll change those options.  I've done all the ones that I 'know of' like AIM, Yahoo, and I changed his LimeWire (thanks).  Oh, and at the end of the ewidos scan, I wasn't sure what to do, but it appeared that all the items were placed in quarantine but I didn't do anything with the program http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />  Thanks again, sorry I'm loquacious.

Til I hear from you again...

Sorry for the late reply Jessica

Glad SP2 went well for you, I like to wait until the system is clear of trojans, viruses and spyware before attempting the update
Actually, even Microsoft recommends this
But you did OK

The log looks good now
I'm just wondering if you know what this is related too
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ITSetup] "D:\itype\Setup.exe" dualcd "d:\ipoint\setup.exe"

Also, are you able to download CleanUp!
And did you fully update Ad-Aware and run a Full System Scan?

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

I have no idea what that is.

Nope, I couldn't download the CleanUp!  I even tried it on my laptop but couldn't get it.  Not sure why I can't, it tells me that the page cannot be found.

The address is.. http://downloads.stevengould.org/cleanup/CleanUp40.exe
correct?

And yep, I did update Ad-Aware and ran a Full System Scan.

You've been amazing!

Thanks again!

Sorry, almost forgot about you
Well, it's too bad you couldn't get that download
It's a great free utility

Here's the developers website of CleanUp! 4.0
if you would like to try this link
http://cleanup.stevengould.org/

Seeing that everything is running better

You should disable system restore---restart your computer--enable system restore
This will clear all your restore points and ensure you don't restore any nasties
Once reenabled it will create a fresh restore point
How to Disable and Re-enable System Restore feature

Once back in Windows and System Restore is reenabled

You should set up protection against future attacks

SpywareBlaster 3.3 by JavaCool
*Will block bad ActiveX Controls
*Block Malevolent cookies in Internet Explorer and Firefox
*Restrict actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer

IE-Spyad---IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
Here is a tutorial and download link
TUTORIAL==Link to Tutorial
Download link

With both, Check for updates every couple of weeks
Keep the link to IE-Spyad bookmarked so you can check for updates
SpywareBlaster, after every update just simply enable all protection
IE-Spyad is compatible with Service Pack 2 as well

NOTE: I'm still not sure what the entry in Hijackthis is related too
You could fix it and restart the computer
If you find you need it
Hijackthis would of made a backup of it and you can restore it from there
It looks like it's coming from the D: drive, is this your CD rom?
