Motherboard Failure?
« on: May 27, 2005, 07:19:54 AM »
Hi there, am new to this forum but am hoping to get some help from you guys.

I have a self built machine (nearly a year old now). Specs are

Nvidia Mach 3 NF24ALH Nforce2 Motherboard
AMD Athlon XP3000+ Barton
512MB 133 Memory
ATI Radeon 9600 256MB Graphics card
80GB HD

As mentioned I've had it for nearly a year but the other week I booted it up and I had no display from the monitor even though the machine appeared to be powered up just fine. After resetting it booted up just fine. Forward-wind to yesterday and although my girlfriend used it without issue during the day I tried to boot up when I got home and again had no display from the monitor. Trying to reset had no effect. After powering down and then re-attempting to switch it on I noticed that I wasn't getting the bleep to say the machine was working.

I phoned a mate and he suggested the first thing I thought of and that was to take out the memory to see if I would get the continual bleeping but alas this had no effect and the machine (although it has power running through it) stayed silent on the "bleeping" front.

I also unhooked the graphics card to the same result and even took out the battery for a short while to see if that would have an effect but alas it still fails to boot up.

The fans are all fully operating (two on the case and one each on the psu, cpu and graphics card) and the motherboard light is on so it doesnt look like a psu fault. Also the Hard drive light is remaining fully on so dont know if that will help at all.

My friends appear to think the motherboard has gone but as mentioned before I thought I would see if any of you guys have heard of this before and if there is anything else I can try or do!

Many thanks in advance for any help or advice that comes this way..

This is a website where you get free money for just searching the net. They have forums with PROOF that it works. There are pictures of the transactions and EVERYTHING! It really does work!
