I hope you can help me as firstly I am completely computer illiterate
(wish I wasn't) and secondly this is the 3rd forum I have posted to because even though I have people suggesting this, that and the other thing, a solution is eluding everyone. Please remember if anyone has suggestions they have to be very step by step instructions as I really don't know much about computers.
I got my computer back from the repair shop it went in for minor problem with mouse drivers. The repair shop just went ahead and loaded Windows 98 SE onto my computer on top of my Windows 98 which annoys me because it now means $70 everytime Windows needs loading, but I think the files are on the hard drive (a lot of good that will do me because I have no idea how to access them or move or open them).
Anyway, my problem is when I got the computer back I opened some password protected workbooks in excel and did some work in them, then I deleted them. I can't remember how I deleted them as I may have done that wrong because the next time I tried to open excel it did nothing. No pop up box or message or warning, I just did nothing. I then tried to open word and again nothing happened. I search around the net for ideas and eventually decided to reinstall Office.
After installing, then restarting my computer the following messages appeared:
ERROR 1911
Could not register type library for file:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared|VBA\VBA6\VBE6EXT.OLB
and
C:\Program Files\MicrosoftOffice\Office\HTML\HTMLMARQ.OCX
and
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\HTML\HTMLMM.OCX

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\VBE6.DLL
and
ERROR 1904
Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Micrpsoft Shared\VBA\VBA6\VBE6.DLL failed to register HRESULT - 2147024865
and
Module C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\IDE\IDE98\MSE\1033\CSOF.DLL failed to register HRESULT - 2147024865
Please is there anyone out there that knows what is going on?
I have been sent to Microsoft support and I have tried their resolution for error 1911 but it did not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
