Why does it ask for a extraction location?
« on: July 18, 2005, 04:33:12 PM »
Hope this is the right thread.
Been searching the net for ages over this problem.

Tinkering with an unattended install of windows 2k.
Have integrated the clean CD  and Service pack 4
Have also created a svcpack.inf file with the post hotfixes after sp4.
created this inf file in i386, as well as folder with all the hotfixes to install

all goes great till I get to the registering componants part. near the end when it asks which folder to extract to - sugests winnt. accept yes.
says extraction complete and continus along its merry way.
then continuse right through to the end.
Apart from this bit its a near perfect basic install.

Should I be able to put a line in some file to say extract all hot fix stuff to 'winnt' folder.

when thats done I want to progress with more installed stuff.

hope somebody can help.

Nobody ever had a stall of somekind with there unattended CD/DVD?

Am I being unreasonable that it should install right the way thru without any intervention whatso ever?
