Win 98 Reinstall Prod Key
« on: August 28, 2005, 10:24:32 AM »
Instead of going into regedit, I quickly wrote down the oem number from the info screen before starting my reinstall of Win98.  So I have:  27203-oem-0080553-51670.

But it is asking for 25 (5 by 5) product key.  There was another string of questins like this but I'm unclear as to how the above can be translated into the product key.

Assistance requested - Thanks

is this a legit copy? If it is, contact microsoft and tell them what heppened...and they'll replace the key. They're used to having people call that upgraded their computers, and the key went blah. I'm sure it'll be no problem.

apb,

not clear on whether you have finished the install or not? if not there are programs that will tell you what your installed versions key is. search for keyreader or keyfinder...
