w2k licence setup error
« on: September 21, 2005, 09:47:10 AM »
Hello,
I am trying to install 2000 on a new Dell Optiplex GX520 that came with xp. I have formatted the C:NTFS partition but during 2000 setup the product key is not being accepted.
I get an error "the cd key you entered is not valid"
I have tried 2 other 2000 keys and I get the same error. I have also tried another 2000 cd.
I have reinstalled xp and tried again to install 2000 but get stuck at the same place.
The win2000 license is a valid one, purchased from legitimate supplier. Supplier recommended that I try other key numbers to verify that problem is with the pc.
p.s. At the beginning of setup, there is a blue screen crash saying that there is an unknown hard error with ntdll.dll. This only happens after the first boot.
Can anyone help me please?
Sunnyboy.

is this a legit key that HASN'T been used on another computer? Because if it has, it's useless.

1 key for 1 computer
