I just upgraded to xp from me

hi,
I just went from windows me to XP and it seems to make my computer runs slow i think..... my old computer (the one im on now) with win98 and older hardware is faster it seems??? could my ME computer over working to run xp??? How do i tell what spec's it has so you may beable to tell me if this is normal for that size of a computer.
