« on: October 06, 2005, 05:34:09 PM »
Hey i am new here, just need some help with my sisters computer. She has had this computer for a good 3 years, and doesn't have any sort of virus scanning program, I am currently running an online trend mirco scan and have 13,000 infected files already with this WORM ALCAN.A worm, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time

Hi Leftyyy
If you still want a hand

Can you do the following
Download Hijackthis 1.99.1 from my signature below
Save it too a permanent folder on your drive

Run hijackthis.exe and do a System scan and save log file
When the log opens
Copy and paste back to this thread the Whole contents

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

I noticed there are a lot of threads for the alcan worm. Is there a general removal process, or is it all case by case?
