Overheat: Not Sure?
« on: January 14, 2006, 11:21:06 AM »
Hello, I am  wondering if there is a way to check if anything is overheating in side my computer?  I usally leave my computer on all day and only turn it off when there is a problem. the computer has a fan and also my graphic card coame with one but I am not sure if thats helping. I played one of my games called Bf2 and the screen started to flicker on and off then turned off completley, this doesnt happen alot and only happend o me 3 times. I am not sure if that is a sighn of my graphic card overheating but  I need to know for sure. The reason i hate turning off computer and turning it back on at night is becaue I have so much stuff thats starts up that take awhile to load up, then I have to press Ctrl,Alt Delete to see shut off any background programs that are running, and I have no clue on how to turn the programs off  for they can quit staring up.

First, I would go out and buy 1-3 case fans due to leaving it on all day. That may be one thing. Also your graphic card may be getting old, or its only the minuim graphics needed to play the game ex 32 meg. or it could be the monitor might be getting old. Or it could just be that ur drivers need to be updated. But I would highly recommend buyin more fans for the inside. you can check the temp of the computer in the bios, forget wat to look for but just look around. The motherboard should not get more then 130 degrees and the cpu should be about the same if its over then yea that overheatting and badly.
