Wondering if there\'s a way to modify my WIN2K Professional Upgrade to a WIN2K Professional Full version.  Or might there be a way to bypass or disable the previous OS check during setup?  Any info will be well appreciated.

What works for me, is to just always carry around a spare win98 cd.  You can do a clean install with the upgrade version of win2k.  It\'ll ask to see the previous windows cd (I believe it\'ll accept a win95/98/me or winnt 4 cd), verifies it, then goes on about its business.

Sure, it\'s definitely possible this way, but it would be much more convenient to _not_ have to pop a Win9x or NT4 CD in the drive during the install process.

Get creative.  You can delete a lot of the extra folders on a win2k cd.  That\'d give you some extra room.  Then see about copying a win98 cd to its own directory.  When it asks for the previous windows cd, try pointing it to the correct directory.  If it works, then you\'ll still only have to have one cd, and it\'ll only take one extra step.

Otherwise, just get a fullversion copy of win2k, and do the no serial edit on it.  That way you won\'t be using the \"wrong\" key on it, since you won\'t be using a key at all.  If anyone does an audit (assuming you\'re doing this for a business, if it\'s just for you I don\'t think anyone\'ll care), just make sure you keep your win2k and win9x license handy, so you can have proof it\'s a legit install.

Actually the easy way is to change the pid in setupp.ini from 51..4000 to end with 3000.
