Editing io.sys from a Win98 Bootable CD

Here\'s what I want to do.

I want a bootable CD win98 style (i.e. floppy emulation), but I want to get rid of the \"do you want to boot from cd or harddisk\" message and replace it with a Win2K CD type of message.

I think this involves editing io.sys, but;
      a: I can\'t find the text in the file to edit
      b: I need some guidance on the \"rules\" about editing such files

Has anyone ever done this before ?

...and yes I\'ve tried searching google for \"editing io.sys\", but all you get is 100\'s of pages telling you what files you need to make a bootable floppy

Going strictly from memory, but I think that\'s in jo.sys, not io.sys.

yep, you\'re right, I found it in there after making the post.

But I still would like to be able to replace it with the Win2K message, but am happy with what I\'ve got.

I have been used several bootable win98-CD
not every of them have message of \"choose boot from cd or harddisk\"..ok?
if you have made the CD_RW of bootable win98-CD
you\'ll know the boot part(where how )

try to find hex edittor... google .hex editor
keep boot disk in hand in case ur pc stuck...
 open hex editor and then open ur io.sys
try change what u want...
