had some viruses so i used a program called hijack This (which actually works great) but I deleted a few extra lines in the registry pertaining to running services.
i did this because some of the viruses install thenselves as services and some of the viruses can now (i guess) install themselves running within your services like spoolsrv.exe and svchost.exe so I only remember deleting a key that referenced C:\documents.exe
this may have been it. dunno
but here's what happens..... logon with username and password (any and all of them do this) and it says "loading personal settings" then starts to load the explorer (desktop) and immdiately (before it even displays and desktop icons) says "saving settings" and logs you right off back to the logon screen.
I can put this hard drive into another machine and acccess the volume...
can I just access the volume and edit a file (registry or logon script or something) to get back on.

thanks in advance
