problem to play dvd drives

ok my problem is when I play a dvd movie on my dvd drive pop out a error code showing \"unknown file format\",I have a generic pc made for myself a pentium III 800eb mhz and a voodoo 4500 video card a crucial pc133 256ram of memory in a mobo \"fic\" fa15t using windows 2000 professional its included the service pack from microsoft but still ginivg to me the problemI been used a diferent dvd movies but its doing the same thing,the dvd software its the new cyberlink power dvd xp 4.0,the dvd drive its a NEC dvd rom DV 5700A if sombody know some about it...

Good Video card , enough memory ,
Perhaps wrong area code ,  or something wrong in the setup .
Wrong  drive  associated with  the dvd player.Very hard to tell from a distance .
