I have a CD drive and a DVD drive that I want to connect to a single Sound Card for audio through ONE speaker set. My Compaq Premier Sound (ESS 1869) Card only has a single CD input.

Any suggestions on cards?

It is highly unlikely that you have two headers for connecting CD/DVD drives on your integrated ESS1869 on your ComCrap ComPuter.
What you can do is attach the audio cable of one drive to the header and use the hedphone out of the other drive to the line in.

If Compaq and HP merge will they lose the ComCrap moniker?
