Help with Win98 CD Rom
« on: January 08, 2002, 12:51:24 PM »
I have an unlabeled copy of Windows 98 on CD ROM.  How do I tell if it is Second Edition or not?

Check the file dates on the CAB files.
If they are from 99, its 98SE.

Thanks!  Will it matter if this is a burned copy of the original?

As long as the burn was set to use the original date for the files, no.  If every date on the CD is the same open a cab file and check the date\'s inside.  Use winzip or winrar to open the cab file.
Hope this Helps,
