Open Hijackthis>>Open Misc tools section>>Open "Uninstall Manager"
Click the SAVE LIST button
Save the list to your desktop and then copy>>Paste back here the whole contents

I see you have never installed any AV software, I have free versions
Don't install one yet, I want to see what we're dealing with

Try the following
But first, Download
W2fix.exe and save it ONLY to your desktop
We may not need this, but if we do, you have it

Go to this page
http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html
Use procedure No. 4
You can save the uninstaller to your desktop, once saved to desktop

Close all other open windows, including this one
Run the uninstaller and follow the prompts

Reboot the computer

Back in Windows
You have no AV installed
Download and install ONLY one of the below, All have a free version
but reminder only install one

AVG 7 by Grisoft

Avast Home Edition by ALWIL

Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic

Once your new AV is installed ensure it is updated
Close all windows and run a complete system scan, let it fix whatever it finds
Reboot the computer when it's done

Back in Windows

Come back here and post a fresh hijackthis log

NOTE: If you lose internet connection when doing any of the above, simply run W2fix.exe you saved earlier to desktop and then reboot the computer at the prompt

Can you do the following

Download and save to your desktop CWShredder.exe

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. To boot into Safe Mode, please restart your computer. Tap F8 before Windows loads. Select Safe Mode on the screen that appears.

Find and delete the following folder if found
C:\WINDOWS\INET20091 <-this folder

Double click on CWShredder.exe and click the FIX button, let it finish it's scan
After it's done, exit

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

F1 - win.ini: run=C:\WINDOWS\INET20091\SERVICES.EXE

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot back to Normal mode

Back in Windows, post back a fresh hijackthis log
Do you know what this entry is related too?
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Virtual Keyboard TotalAccess] C:\MY DOCUMENTS\VKT.EXE /init

do you know what this entry is related too?
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Virtual Keyboard TotalAccess] C:\MY DOCUMENTS\VKT.EXE /init

It may be legit, I'm just unsure, I don't see what it would be related to in the Hijackthis uninstall list
but it appears to be a utility that won't need installed
If you don't know
Go to either of these links
http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html
OR
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

Use the browse button and navigate to the file on your harddrive
C:\MY DOCUMENTS\VKT.EXE <-this file

Right click on the file and choose Select
Then use the Submit button
Let it finish scanning
Could you post back the results of the scan back here please

Could you also give me a fresh uninstall list from Hijackthis please
Are you disabling anything from running with msconfig?

Please supply all the info above!

Do a "System scan only" with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://google.icq.com/search/search_frame.php
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://google.icq.com
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [New.net Startup] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~1.DLL,NewDotNetStartup

I would also check the next one, you can start it manually if needed
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [warez] "C:\PROGRAM FILES\WAREZ P2P CLIENT\WAREZ.EXE" -h

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows
Including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Reboot the computer

Find and delete this folder if found
C:\PROGRAM FILES\NEWDOTNET <-folder

Access Internet Options via Control Panel
Under the Programs tab "Reset Web Settings"
Under the General tab---Delete files + offline content
Close IE if open

Post back later with a fresh hijackthis log
Let me know how things are running

Oh ya, thanks for the info on
Virtual Keyboard TotalAccess, I figured that's what it was by visiting their website, I just wanted to be sure

I'm still concerned that I don't see a firewall on this computer
Are you behind a hardware firewall?
