ntfs and dos

i have converted my fat 32 to ntfs© but now i want to delete the windows files and other files installed by windows and reinstall windows xp or 2000© but i cannot access ntfs in dos© i cannot repartition or reformat the drive cause i have other files in the same drive©

i wanted to try the ntfsdos pro but i unable to get a full version or it© can they is notting i can do©  it they anyway for me to start the pc in mode where i can do mofication to the files , for example delete©

Use PartitionMagic Pro 7 and convert back to fat32, ($ 69,95) from www.powerquest.com. That is significantly cheaper than NTFSDos Pro at $299.

If you have only disk and only one partition there is no other way than to make backup of wanted files in w2k or xp. Reinstalling does not destroy files on another partition of the drive however, so if you have several partitions copy wanted files to another partition.

You should give the actual situation of your computer : drives , partitions and filesystem of them , and eventually other operating systems on your computer actually working and where you want to install winxp .
Then perhaps there is a way to explain how to get into your ntfs partition or drive , without needing ntfsdos

thanks for the reply, this is information about my drive. i having 1 harddisk, 18gb,  with 2 fat32 partition.  i wanted to format my pc to use windows xp. but this time i wanted to use ntfs.  this is first.  ok. i am a heavy pc user, installing a lot of games and uninstalling a lot of games very frequently. so something i got my system become very slow, so i will reformat again to install windows xp. normally i will do it simply by using the windows 98 boot disk to boot into dos then, access the windows xp installation folder then run then setup from there.  but i heard that , with ntfs, we cannot do this. so this is my actual situation.

how can i do it in ntfs.

and i also having another problem. i cannot install windows xp on a formated my, there have to be another os inside it. my windows xp is oem version. i will install windows xp in the following way, install windows 98 first, then go to windows and run windows xp setup from there, i have tried to install windows xp in dos, but typing winnt, inside the folder i386, it will prepare the installation files, but it will not go futher after the installation files has been created. it will stay there ( not hang). so i dont know what to do. so you guys have any idea on how to overcome this problem

If you install a lot of games , why don\'t you keep your win 98 to install the games on , on a fat 32 partition , and install the games on the seconf fat32 partition
 Install the oem winxp on a second drive 9 mb in fat 32 and eventually convert it afterwards to ntfs if necessary .I have done this too but the I had full retail version and I also had a drive with w2k  so I could enter my drives from the other .Once you have ntfs you can only enter your fat32 ,(and other ntfs drives) from winxp but not the other way round .
Your problem ,you don\'t have a winwp oem cd anymore, I suppose .If you keep your installation folder on a fat32 partition you will allways be able to enter it with a win98 setup disk .
