Get Norton Anti Virus and Spy Sweeper run full system sweep on everything.
amke sure it scans all removable hard drys and everything els.
Then after its done restart computer and if it won't work im sorry can't help you.

Hit OK
Copy the contents of the CODE box, not including the word "code"
Paste it to the empty Notepad file
In Notepad click FILE>>SAVE AS
Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Name the file as export.bat

Save this file on the desktop

This is bios.
BIOS is typically placed in a ROM chip that comes with the computer (it is often called a ROM BIOS). This ensures that the BIOS will always be available and will not be damaged by disk failures. It also makes it possible for a computer to boot itself. Because RAM is faster than ROM, though, many computer manufacturers design systems so that the BIOS is copied from ROM to RAM each time the computer is booted. This is known as shadowing.

Many modern PCs have a flash BIOS, which means that the BIOS has been recorded on a flash memory chip, which can be updated if necessary.

It really depends on the make and model of your computer

Many use the
Delete key when the computer first boots up

Don't make any changes in the bios, I just wanted you to take a look if the cddrive is recognized

There's a couple reasons I wanted you to check the bios to see if your CD drive is recognized

If it's not recognized in the bios and device manager
It could be that the one of the cables going to the drive have come loose and need refit

It is listed in the bios

and the device manger says everything is working fine

I don't see the upper or lower filters I was expecting in that reg export I had you do earlier

Can you do the following for me please
I just want to double check something

Download and SAVE to desktop XP_CD-DVD-Fix.zip
EXTRACT the contents within to desktop
So you now have XP_CD-DVD-Fix.exe unzipped to desktop

Ensure any other users on the computer are logged off

Double click on XP_CD-DVD-Fix.exe and click the
"Restore Missing Drives to Windows Explorer" button
Ok the prompts

Reboot the computer
Any help?
