I've been searching around the Internet just to find out what coolWWWSearch.leftovers is supposed to be/do. My question is a bit different than others posted.
On a routine check of computers in our office, I ran a Spybot S&D (version 1.4 updated through end of November) scan while in safe mode on all computers. I had two computers that came up with the CoolWWWSearch.leftovers file but Spybot did not give any more information on it. I then ran a Symantec Client Security Antivirus (version 9 or 10) scan while still in safe mode and found nothing. The next step I performed was to bring the computer up into Windows, removed all temporary internet files and then ran another updated Spybot Scan with definitions through December 3rd updates (I don't recall the exact date of definitions). This scan did not show anything.
Now seeing that it was that easy to remove the coolWWWSearch.leftovers file, I have to wonder what the heck did I do wrong, what might I be missing and what is this file supposed to do?
Thanks!!
