Bootable SP2 cd
« on: July 20, 2001, 05:05:59 AM »
I\'m trying to make a bootable sp2 cd, however, I downloaded cdrwin 3.8e (only it, 3.8d, and 4.0a were available) and followed the instructions (I\'m currently in win2k btw), and when I click start, I get a message that the program has caused an error and will be shutdown (I tried reinstalling it too).  Then I tried using nero 5.5, and I chose the bootable cd option, provided the boot.bin, etc., but I get the error message cannot find ntloader.  Any help would be appreciated.  Oh, and I made an XTRA directory in the cd with some various files/utilities that I find useful.

I downloaded the latest Nero, tried to burn a slipstreamed CD, and got the same couldn\'t find NTLDR error. A second attempt after carefully checking all the parameters gave the same result.

This did work using Easy CD Creator 5, but I only have that at home (and it\'s software non grata at work).

Has anyone made this work with Nero?

I had the same problem at first with 3.8d but when I looked at my CD it had preserved the file locations so there was a folder called Win2K under which all the other files were stored. The only way I got around this was to copy all the Win2K files to the root of my second HDD and run the cd session from there.

Alternatively you can streamline SP2 and cut a CD and then add the boot files

Worked for me and I now have two copies.

Hope this helps

Setup cdrwin exactly as it was in the images and you will have no problem.
Your description clearly shows a missed checkbox.
