All of this is pure speculation and as such, no intent is implied!
If one were to have two copies of WXP Pro, one copy being the \"Devils Own\" floating around and another being OEM or retail. And one were to edit the last three Setup.ini file digits to the V.L. 270 and one were to replace the PIDGEN.DLL file in I386 with the Devils Own PIDGEN.DLL in I386, one might find that the newly assembled files might cause the reaction many are looking for. Of course one might need the V.L. PID supplied with the Devils Own floating around, unless said person had access to different V.L. PIDs
Again, this is pure SPECULATION. However it\'s not clear if this would be totally illegal or not. If one were to buy an OEM copy and rearange certain items listed above and used the rearanged OEM files to install, which agreement would one be breaking with M$ ?
In order to qualify for V.L. purchases, at least 500 copies must be purchased @ around $199 each for a total of US $99,500. I\'m sure better deals could be worked out and that price is a guess. Now, the only real desire from most is to not deal with WPA, not make copies to sell or give away. Which all of this comes to is this question.
If a person buys a legit copy of WXP but uses the above mentioned steps to avoid WPA, what agreement and/or law is being broken by that person? If a full install is made from the altered purchased copy, what agreement and/or law is being broken???
