Excel Problem

When I double click on an already created Excel file, it opens an instance of Excel but not the file I wanted.  When it opens, I have to go to File|Open and open the file this way.  This is such a pain in my A$%.  Anyone have any ideas.  I am not sure what has changed on my PC running XP.  Thanx in advance.

Not sure if this will work, but try it anyway.

Open My computer.  click on tools, folder options.  File types tab.  Find xls file extension and select it.  Click on advanced button.  Highlight open and click edit button.  Make sure these are in the fields:

Application used to perform action:
\"C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeEXCEL.EXE\" /e

Use DDE checked

DDE Message
[open(\"%1\")]
